ACH Same Day - What You Need To Know
On September 15, 2017, the National Automated Clearing House (NACHA) will begin allowing for faster processing of debits (i.e., checks) from your checking account. When checks are given to merchants or when online payments are made, such as with your utility company, the amount of the debit may be withdrawn from your account the day the charge is made. Previously, the debit could have taken up to two days. Remember that at different times during the day, multiple debits could be processed. Please ensure sufficient funds are available in your account to cover the entire amount of the purchase(s) or payment(s).
